Here we go again...

Today I am trying to knit a pair of fingerless mittens.  I have made numerous pairs of Fetching.  Love the pattern.  Of course, I have usually altered the pattern to compensate for longer fingers and arms, by adding cabled rows.

This pair of mittens is being made with Woolease, (forest green heather), with size 6 dpns.

I cast on 40 stitches and have used a k4p1 ribbing pattern.  I knit this for 4".

Thumb gusset:

I started the gusset on the 3rd needle (the one with only 10 stitches).

  1. The first row: knit 4, pm, m1r, p, m1l, knit 4, p1, continue pattern

Only a few rows added to sock today.  Trying to decide which patterning to use once the toe is complete.

More knitting!

Continuing the sock. (still on the toe)

Continue to add 4 stitches to each round as described previously until there are 60 stitches.
Knit without increasing stitch count every other row.
So far I am at 72 stitches. (Yes its a slow process!)

I've been trying to knit a minimania scarf. I've ripped it out three times! Just not getting it right. And it is going to be a long time knitting project. I really need some quick gift ideas. Which means I'll be going down the rabbit hole known as Ravelry.

I'm accepting suggestions!

Its been a long time

I am going to try to use my blog for helping me remember what I am knitting and how I am doing it. I have too many single socks done and can't recall how I started them. I hope to add some additional updates.

Trekking Maxima Colour 911 (lot 18623) I have 2 skeins.

Started sock toe up.
Using Susan Bates sock needles size 1 (silver color)

Figure 8 cast on with two needles, 10 'stitches' on each needle.
First row, knit all stitches
2nd row: knit 1, knit fb, knit 3, start 3rd needle, knit 3, knit fb, knit 1, (next needle) knit 1 knit fb, knit fb, knit 3, start 4th needle, knit 3, knit fb, knit 1 (total 24 stitches)
3rd row: knit all stitches
4th row: add 1 stitch to each needle as in 2nd row (total 28 stitches)
5th row - continue as with row 4.

That's it for now. Have to take Oscar to get groomed and a few more errands.

Have a good day everyone.

The Price of Free Speech

Please join the Blue Ribbon Campaign.  Others have described this effort more clearly and eloquently than I can.  You can read some of those here and here.
